Lenox Trio
Chi Li (violin), Tsz To Wong (cello) and Shelley Ng (piano) have studied in different parts of the world--Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (France), Guildhall School of Music and Drama (London), Cleveland Institute of Music (OH), New England Conservatory (MA), Rice University (TX), USC Thornton School of Music (CA), and The Chinese University of Hong Kong. They first met at the Tanglewood Music Center but never had the chance to play together until an unprecedented situation brought them to Hong Kong again and they started rehearsing regularly. The Trio draws on a deep engagement to the classics while advocating contemporary works. In February, despite shutdown of performance venues, the Trio performed a virtual recital presented by Tom Lee and was invited to perform on the Radio Television Hong Kong. Chi is the assistant concertmaster of the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra, Shelley is the pianist of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble, whereas Tsz To will be pursuing his doctoral degree in the Fall. The Trio currently resides in Hong Kong.
